When we see an uneven contour of the facial oval, sagging cheeks and deepening of nasolabial folds, lowering the level of the eyebrows and overhanging eyelids, we realize that these changes are the result of the forces of gravity on the one hand, and “skin stretching” on the other.

But the cause of facial soft tissue prolapse is much more multifaceted: it is also changes that occur to the tissues under the skin:

Facial skeleton. Our bite changes (its height decreases), bone tissue depletes (the size of the orbit changes, the zygomatic bone thickens, the lower jaw shrinks, etc.).

Muscles and ligaments – stretching and thinning, soft tissue slippage effect, “facial drooping”;

SMAS (Superficial Musculo Aponeurotic System) is a structure that is responsible for the harmonious movement of muscles and skin; SMAS over time loses its elasticity, stretches and as a consequence we see bumps, pits, furrows on the face.

Subcutaneous adipose tissue and fatty compartments are moved downward by gravity, these changes are noticeable as fat hernias and clumps in the facial oval area.

Modern approaches to the correction of cheek prolapse (ptosis):

The time of appearance of the first such changes depends more on genetic predisposition, partly on lifestyle and skin condition.

Modern approaches to the correction of facial tissue prolapse (ptosis) are radically different from what aesthetic medicine offered ten to fifteen years ago.

Today, cosmetology as a science is developing very dynamically: its capabilities are expanding, approaches to aesthetic correction are changing. Considering aging not only as a change in skin tone and relief, but also as a loss and distribution of volumes, cosmetology supplements its strategy with 3D modeling.

Volumetric correction of the face involves moving and replenishing the volume of soft tissues of the face similar to plastic surgery, whereby the reduction (removal of excess) of tissues is replaced by their movement. Moreover, volumizing methods are already encroaching on the aesthetic correction of age-related dystrophic changes of the bony skeleton.

What do non-surgical rejuvenation techniques allow today?

  • lifting the upper third of the face and the level of the eyebrows;
  • correction of the periorbital area (excess skin, upper/lower eyelid hernias, correction of the nasolacrimal sulcus, volume of the bony edge of the orbit);
  • volume modeling of the middle third of the face (volumetric modeling of the cheek and cheekbone area, correction of nasolabial folds, compensation for the lowering of the cheeks and corners of the mouth);
  • correction of the contours of the lower jaw (elimination of snouts, correction of the volume and shape of the chin, the angle of the lower jaw),
  • nasal reshaping;
  • correction of the shape and volume of the lips.

Today, the possibilities of modern aesthetic medicine are so significant that radical methods of correction of facial features, such as plastic surgery, can often be significantly delayed or avoided altogether.

Correction of soft tissue prolapse of the face is a frequent reason for patients to apply to the treatment and diagnostic center “Modern Dermatology and Surgery” in Poltava. Having the ability to qualitatively perform a whole range of effective procedures, including innovative techniques and technologies, allows to achieve the set aesthetic objectives as successfully and safely as possible.

In order to correct the soft tissue prolapse of the face in the treatment and diagnostic center “Modern Dermatology and Surgery” the following methods are used:

Injection methods:

1. We start with the restoration of the deep layers of the face (filling of flattened bone structures, strengthening of the ligamentous apparatus). Our method offers non-surgical and safe correction (lifting) of cheekbones and cheeks with the help of 3D facelift procedure using Radiesse.

2. Contour plastic surgery (fillers, volumetric modeling of the face) takes a central place in the restoration, filling facial volumes. We use preparations of the world’s leading brands – Allergan (USA), Q-Med (Sweden), Merz Pharma (Germany). Competent replenishment of lost volumes of the upper and middle thirds of the face, correction of chin hollows and lowered lip corners – all this helps to qualitatively affect the restoration of clear facial contours. It is especially worth emphasizing that to achieve a quality result is important qualification of personnel (in the treatment and diagnostic center “Modern Dermatology and Surgery” these procedures are performed by doctors certified by the companies producing drugs) and compliance with sterile conditions (procedures are performed in sterile conditions, which is impossible to provide quality “neither at home nor in a hairdresser’s shop”).

3. In case of excess subcutaneous fatty tissue, lipolytic therapy is successfully used – injectable preparations that allow to destroy fat cells in places of excessive accumulation (second chin, bellybones).

4. Application of botulinum neurotoxin preparations (Botox, Dysport). This technique allows you to achieve relaxation of certain muscle groups that increase the lowering of the soft tissues of the face. This allows you to get improvement of facial features (raise the level of eyebrows, nose tip), smooth the forehead, wrinkles between the eyebrows and eyes, as well as vertical pulls of the neck.

5. Plasmolifting promotes the formation of young skin cells from stem cells, the growth of a network of blood vessels and the restoration of normal metabolic processes in the skin. In this case, fibroblasts (connective tissue cells, which are located deep in the skin,) begin to release an increased amount of collagen and elastin – proteins that provide elasticity of the skin. This is the latest achievement of scientists on rejuvenation and revitalization of facial skin – injections of youth with own plasma enriched with platelets.

Threaded methods of correction:

1. APTOS. APTOS threads are an effective prevention and correction of soft tissue prolapse of the face. This technique of minimally invasive facelift allows you to model the oval face due to the formation of a new framework that will “hold” the tissues, not allowing them to fall, forming deep wrinkles and folds. The technique, which has a short rehabilitation period, is quite effective if the indications for it are correctly assessed.

2. Tredlift. Mesonites. This technique is suitable for all skin areas of the face, neck, as well as for the abdomen, buttocks, legs and arms. With the help of mesonites can remove wrinkles, nasolabial and frontal folds, even out and tighten the skin, improve the oval of the face as a whole. Rejuvenating effect is noticeable after one procedure. Over time, after about two months, the effect becomes even more noticeable, as the connective tissue forms a natural supportive framework.

Hardware techniques:

The current hardware methods, judging by the announcement of the companies of manufacturers, should provide a bright and fast lifting of facial tissues, probably like the promises of labels on beautiful and expensive jars of cream with collagen. But it does not happen. There is no miracle machine or magic cream yet. In age patients really visible tissue lifting can take place only after carefully planned and correctly performed injectable facial correction by an experienced doctor.

Procedures to prevent ptosis and strengthen the soft tissues of the face in women with the first signs of aging:

1. Microcurrent therapy with lymphatic drainage program to eliminate swelling of the eyelids and face, skin toning and hydration programs. The procedure will be especially effective if performed with hyaluronic acid serum.

2. laser or photo rejuvenation, improves skin condition, activates collagen synthesis, eliminates vascular stars of the face and body, couperose face, wide pores, pigmentation.

3. Radio wave facelift, (second chin, facial oval). This is the controlled heating of the dermis with a high frequency electric current, resulting in complete or partial coagulation of collagen and elastin from the temperature. The heating causes the fibers to contract, tightening the skin, while smoothing fine lines and wrinkles and shrinking the skin.

4. Facial myostimulation is a procedure for correction of facial muscle tone, which allows to restore, strengthen and tighten facial muscles in a short period of time.

By adequately selecting the optimal technique in each case, sometimes – competently combined, we can achieve significant results in the correction of facial features, restoration of facial contours without surgical interventions, while taking care of the health and adequate functioning of the skin.

Determine the existing opportunities in aesthetic medicine, make an appropriate work plan is possible during an individual consultation with a doctor of the treatment and diagnostic center “Modern Dermatology and Surgery”.
